We are increasingly being contacted by parents whose children are suffering from stress, trauma, anxiety and low self esteem. However, there is limited support available to families, especially in the early stages and particularly for trauma support.
We offer 1:1 private sessions for kids who are currently struggling with any form of emotional issues including stress and anxiety or needing some mental health support.
As services within Sussex are so limited, it prompted us to create accessible sessions for kids, teens and families as a whole, to discuss what they are experiencing in a safe and supportive environment. Our aim is to reduce the negative emotions quickly and boost self esteem.
Happy Minds Sussex and it's sub-division Happy Kids, is a C.I.C based in Shoreham-by-Sea, servicing all surrounding areas and further afield online.
We also offer group sessions and courses tailored for primary, secondary schools and academy's plus community groups such as Girl Guides, Brownies, Scouts, Cadets and so on. We are especially keen on implementing a Year 3 programme into schools as this will have a huge impact on preventing anxiety and other mental health issues developing in Years 6, 7, 10, 11 and onwards.
Group sessions run as a 4 or 6 week course and provide practical solutions along with some art and play therapy. We also incorporate meditation and therapeutic techniques to help reduce anxiety levels, teach helpful self help tools during times of stress and promote positive change. The sessions are also great for children who are not actually suffering with anxiety but would like to attend for awareness and most importantly, prevention.
For all enquiries, whether is about arranging 1:1 sessions for your child or a course for your school or youth group, please contact us via the form below.
Obviously due to the current restrictions, we are not able to offer group sessions at this time. However we are able to continue offering 1:1 phone/facetime/Zoom sessions that are still extremely effective.
We have been receiving quite a lot of correspondence from parents whose children are experiencing increased anxiety due to yet more changes and a return to home learning. If you are struggling with this, or any other lockdown (3) related stress, trauma or loss, please do get in touch.
